Brian Teeney, CPA, CGA
Brian is our resident CPA, CGA. He has worked in the accounting field for over 25 years, initially as an auditor for the Canada Revenue Agency and then as a self employed accounting, bookkeeping and tax specialist. In 2002, Brian founded The Homestead Group Inc. in Roncesvalles Village and has worked with hundreds of individuals and small businesses to help them achieve financial success. His down to earth and pragmatic nature, combined with his sense of humour make for a rare combination for an accountant.
Whatever challenge clients’ may be facing, Brian is able to drill down to the heart of the matter, formulate an effective plan and empower his clients to charge ahead accordingly. Brian specializes in small business start-ups, financial, business & tax planning, and has a knack for helping financially-challenged clients to face up to their situation and map out an effective action plan!
Brian is the Treasurer for the Roncesvalles BIA (2006 – present), and is the founder of The Taylor Cup Pond Hockey Championship which is a fundraising event that benefits The Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Research Fund. Since the event started in 2006, over $1 million has been raised!
In his spare time, Brian can be found at the local rink playing some pick-up hockey, lounging at his cottage north of Bancroft or feeding his voracious appetite for knowledge.
He recently published a book, The Bucket List Bible, where he coaches people to make changes to their life to live their dreams!
Brian is currently on medical leave and is no longer meeting with clients. He continues to work behind the scenes consulting on files and reviewing T1 files.

Lisa manages all the back-end operations of The Homestead Group Inc. Business planning, operations, invoicing, marketing, HR & client service. Her background as a Client Service Director for a marketing & promotions company serves her well in supporting The Homestead Group’s business. Lisa also provides business consulting and cash-flow management support to clients.
In additional to her responsibilities at Homestead, Lisa has been an active volunteer: Tournament Director of The Taylor Cup (2006-2014), Treasurer of the Non Contact Hockey League (2103-14), and President & Treasurer of Dufferin/St. Clair Bears Nursery Co-op (2002-2004). She does love a good project!
In her spare time, Lisa likes to play tennis, attempts to keep her family organized and is mom to five furry felines!
Ardys manages all of The Homestead Group Inc.’s tax and bookkeeping business. She has worked in the accounting field for over 15 years and has been with Homestead since we first opened the doors; expanding her experience and expertise in all things tax-related. Ardys is currently working toward her CPA accreditation.
Ardys is a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor, and is also proficient in AccountEdge & Simply Accounting. She is an accounting/tax jack-of-all-trades splitting her time between T1 (personal) tax prep for more complicated tax situation &, T2 (corporate) tax prep.
Ardys is a committed, conscientious and knowledgeable professional who goes above and beyond the call of duty for her many clients. Ardys is a mom to a busy 13 year old son and a 4 year old daughter.

Mary Ann is a jack of all trades as she splits her time among bookkeeping, T1 preparation & T1 administration. She ensures all our T1 files are complete with supporting documents, signed paperwork & efiled to the CRA. She tracks all the files that are “work-in-progress” and follows up with clients to chase down any missing information required to complete their returns. Mary Ann’s experience as an administrator for a hockey league, her experience running her own graphics arts business, along with her incredible organizational abilities serve her well at The Homestead Group!
She is experienced with both QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and MYOB/AccountEdge.
Augustine is a T1 Tax Specialist & focuses him time exclusively on the preparation of personal returns. He just completed his first full tax season with us having joined The Homestead Group in July 2018. Augustine brings with him a proven track record having worked in the tax prep field for many years. His energetic attitude and pleasant disposition helps to make the tax prep experience a positive one for our clients!
